Description
This work abstractly depicts a pleasant scene of the artist's life with his pet dog Heigen. The lively Heigen, on the right side of the painting, stands up and pounces on the artist's thigh with his front paws. The artist himself on the left side of the painting, wearing an open brown jacket and a pair of off-white pants, looks down at Heigen and raises his left hand to stroke Heigen's head, with his eyes slightly narrowed. The artist's use of shading and highlighting allows for a clear depiction of the features while the head is bowed with a solid nose. In addition to the figures, the background of the painting is made up of interlaced black lines of varying shades of abstraction but of similar thickness. (He Zhang 25’)
