Description
This work combines traditional and modern motifs by depicting a red car, three modern young Chinese ladies and a scene from “The Golden Lotus” (金瓶梅) in the painting. In a dark green background, three Chinese ladies are painted in black and white, and are surrounding the red car that is placed at the center. Yellow thin strokes are utilized to portray the moment of a young man climbing over a wall through stairs to meet his lover at the other side of the wall. At the bottom right corner of this painting, the third figure is depicted in a standing position under a classical Chinese pavilion, and she is looking towards the direction of the young couples.
