Description
Upon a painted, red background, an image of dog (in each artwork) appear. Amid the dog(s)'s torso, a large word "VISA" in white intercepts, dividing up the dog(s)'s upper and lower body. Surrounding the image of the dog, a few information has been noted with brushstrokes: the dog's name, date and place of birth, etc. Taking the painted artwork as a whole, it's not difficult to note the "VISA" is issued to the dogs in images by the authority of the artist. "Red Visa" might be a series that tightly relates to Wang's another contemporaneous installation series "VISA". Both series could be Wang's means to ridicule about the complicated, at times absurd relations between citizens and society. (Jerry Wu'23).
