Description
In the backdrop of this artwork looms a landscape painting featuring a pagoda and some coppices. Layered upon the background paintings are four figural portraits -- they are likely to be modeled by the same woman. In the four portraits, the figure maintains a similar pose, with her left leg protruding slightly forward, her right hand concealing on her back, and her right hand parallels her lower waist. One outstanding different of the four portraits is the garment and accessories the model wears. The first figure from the left wars a prolonged, pneumatic robe; the second portrait records the model in a velvet-red Qipao (a kind of Chinese female dress); in the third portrait, the figure wears a dark-colored dress and a white hat; and in the rightmost work -- painted in monochrome -- the figure is dressed lightly in shirt and shorts.
