Description
In this work, two figures emerging from a red background are captured in a dramatic posture. The male figure on the right extends her right arm and leg to his front; his head is attending to the same direction. The female figure by the left is in a poise almost as in a ballet dance -- her right arm is stretched beyond her back, and her right leg is lift in the air to form a right-angle with the other one. Layered onto the figural painting are some painted stripes. Reading from the texts "人民银行 (People's Bank)" and the number "100" shown by the strips, the strips are likely to be parts of a banknote of Chinese currency. (Jerry Wu'23).
