Description
In this installation, a metal-web "room" with occasional openings on side (little "side doors") contains some objects that can be observed in a household setting. On the metal web adhered to the ground stands a few sanitary pumps; the pumps are arranged and fixed by another metal-web structure caging them (think of the pumps as the pillars in a metal-box cage). Above the pumps, two long aluminum pipes suspend (hang) in the mid-air. The whole work viewing from afar resembles a wall in a house, despite its unrealistic transparency given by the metal web. The contrast between transparent and volumetric, the virtual and the real, may be one theme LIN has pursued in the work.
