Abstract
This study applies Bayesian hierarchical modeling and linear regression to predict recovery and fatigue in athletes, focusing on factors linked to injury. Using unique proprietary data from the Charlotte Hornets, variables including accumulated load, wellness surveys, and other player metrics were examined to determine their correlation with fatigue and injury. The Bayesian hierarchical modeling approach accounts for both individual differences between athletes and nested structures in sports teams, offering valuable insights for the optimization of athletic performance and well-being.
