eretta da Constantino Magno, divisa in cinque Navate co'sua Crociata. Ottanta Colonne di marmo greco venato di vario colore quivi transportate dal Sepolcro di Adriano Imperatore, sostentano le Navate variando di grandezza, e lavoro le laterali da quelle della Navata di mezzo. Altre Colonne dieci di Granito sono sparse per la Crociata; intorno alla quale come ancora intorno la Navata di mezzo cronologicamente disposi si keggono li Ritratti di tutti i Sommi Pontefici Romani con altre Pitture antiche gia quasi consumate del tempo. Il pavimento delle Navate e formato di rotti pezzi di marmo, levati dalle Rovine di altri Edificii antichi. [erected by Constantine the Great, divided into five naves with his Cross. Eighty Columns of greek marble veined of various color transported there by the tomb of Emperor Hadrian, sustaining the Nave varying in size, and work side by those in the nave in the middle. Other ten Columns of Granite are scattered throughout the Cross; around which as yet around the Nave of the way I arranged all the portraits of the Roman popes with other ancient paintings, nearly faded by time. The flooring of the Nave was formed by broken pieces of marble, lifted from the ruins of the other ancient ruins.
