Description
15th century bench ends on a modern bench include an image of a wolf guarding/holding a bearded head in its jaws. Is it St. Edmund's head being guarded by a wolf or a cloven-hoof priest beast (note its vestments) grasping the head? One the other end a roaring lion sits. There are also early pew-type benches found near the chancel.
