Description
Tympanum of the portal with image of Virgin and Child, St. John the Evangelist, and kingly-donor with acanthus leaves in archivolts. Known simply as ""La Corticela,"" existed in close proximity to the location of the present 11th-century Cathedral. It was founded by Bishop Sisnando I in the late 9th century. Later it became incorporated into the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
