Description
Burgos Cathedral, north transept portal (Puerta de los Apostoles) Last Judgment with the Virgin and St. John the Evangelist interceding for souls. The St. Michael weighs souls and the Blessed and Damned are divided on the lintel. Apostles adorn the jambs. The archivolts illustrate (outer) resurrected souls emerge from their tombs, (center) angels, (inner) seraphim.
