Dear Bishop
I enclose letters recd today from Gambier — [?] of them to you, [??] — + without envelope.
You will see W? Newton’s name suggested for Rector, in case of possible circumstances. Please [??] I could not consent to his nomination, on account of his wife. I will write by the next mail to Mr. Wharton or Mr. Andrews.
You will see that young men looking forward to the ministry have been in the trouble. As Beneficiaries, communicants + expectant of the ministry, whether beneficiaries[?] or not, [?] + the Ed. Com. have to deal with them after their account with the College is settled-- + there I hope you + the Committee will be strict + faithful- Much less excuse for them than this.
