My dear Bishop--
Yours of the 5th from [?] recd today. My letters arrive in the morning. I get them when my son in law comes out at [night]. The answer gets in next morning too late for the maid of that morning, + either gets off by a mail at night,, if there be any, or else [?] next morning. I am very sorry to hear of your dear Mother [?] It was not [?] [parents] I spoke of. I [confirmed] there before the Convention
A [?] is done in Christ’s Church, + I will [?] Goddard to prepare for me what the middle of January— I want you to come down + preach in the Churches, + be known. My thought is at Christ Ch. to have you preach + I confer. I am often asked when you will be here, + as this is the strength of our [many others] as well as other considerations it will be well, after your return from N.Y. to make a good long visit here.
It brightens me to hear that you + Mr. B. are “bright as larks.” Every day I pray for you. The Lord’s grace be with you both.
