Transcript

Dear Bishop MacIlvaine

I was not well the last week your time in London, & before that I had been waiting for [Stafford House] to be uncovered. When I return about the 10th of May, I hope to show it to you, and your Daughters [unless] you [?] wish to see it sooner.

I think there is much in the accounts from America to cheer you, especially in the favorable reception of the President’s Message.

My Duke [desires] me to thank you very much for W. [?]’s very interesting Speech which you have been so good as to send him.

My kind regards to your Daughters and believe me

Yours very truly
Elizabeth-Argyll
