Cincinnati June 11, ‘68
Dearest Mamy,
Dear Nain has left us. Yesterday was a beautiful day--and all was beautiful and exceedingly well arranged and carried out. Nain had about eighty presents about all in silver and gold. I think the [?] must come near to $2000. I suppose a young lady so popular and having so many friends even wh[en] before married in these parts. After our reception, Mr. P[?] gave a [??] at his house just opposite.
Dear Mary if only you and some of yours had been here! I rec’d [???] letter the day before the wedding. I am [?] in great haste. Love to all. Your dear Father.
