Right Rev and dear Sir–
Bishop Bedell has sent me a letter of yours to the Rev. G. N. Jenks of the [?] sent by the latter to Bishop B in which you intended your willingness to transfer Mr. Jenks to the Diocese in case the [?] application be made to you for that purpose. I hereby, on Bishop Bedell’s request, make that application to you, trusting you will have no difficulty in making it.
We are all thankful to you for the excellent letters addressed by you to Gov. Nicks, in the cause of our beloved and unparalleled Union. We are passing through a great trial in a church as well as national view. When and how we shall get through, we must leave with [?] who makes all things work together for good to them what love [?].
I remain, very dear Bishop
Yours affectionately,
Charles P. McIlvaine
