Description
Jerome Newman, colored, died at the Soldiers' and Sailors' Home at Sandusky, Ohio, Saturday evening at 7:15 o'clock after a short illness caused by organic heart trouble. He was 65 years of age at the time of his death and is survived by one son. He was a veteran of the Civil war and was a member of Joe Hooker Post, No. 21, G.A.R. The remains were brought to this city on Monday evening and were taken to Chappelear and Co.'s undertaking parlors on North Main street. The funeral Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the A.M.E. church, Rev. J.M. Tate officiating. Interment in Mound View cemetary.
