While Structure 6 was being dug we found something odd in what seemed on the surface to be an open area adjacent to it. It all started innocently enough as we expanded Sub Operation 12B, which was originally defined for the investigation of Structure 6, outwards to see what that odd thing in the seemingly open space was. As is so often the case with innocent beginnings, things got complicated, then ugly, then confusing. By the time we realized that the open space was filled with many small constructions we were still digging it as part of Sub Operation 12B. So now, that Sub Operation applies to Structure 6, Structure 12-Sub 7, and a little bit of Structure 3.
