Abstract

The music industry has undoubtedly undergone fundamental changes since the invention of pitch correction technology, and audiences' many long-established views of "authenticity" are now being questioned. In this study, I quantitatively assess pitch correction technology's ethical and cultural implications for artist performance, public perception, industry popularity standards, and authenticity using open-source data from Spotify and Chart Masters.
