A Dorm Room Through the Year
Maggie Foight
This is a video, partly filmed by myself, partly filmed by my roommate, Alice Riley. I edited together two video segments of our dorm, Lewis 206. The first was from August, 2019. Alice arrived before I did for cross country training, and she filmed a spin of our room to show me what it looked like. The second segment was one that I took in March, 2020, the day after we were told by College administration that we had a week to pack up our belongings in person, if possible. My dad and I had just finished packing up my half of the room -- Alice lived too far away to react as quickly as we did -- and I felt that it was fitting to take a second video, mirroring the first but under completely different circumstances and feelings. My half of the video replaces the anticipation and excitement that Alice's incites with a kind of sadness and disappointment -- but with the thumbs-up and half-smile that I offer in the mirror, at least I can tell there's a hope that this will all be over soon, that I won't be separated from my best friend for too long, that my College experience won't be completely taken away from me by something that no one could have predicted or controlled. I hope that my video reminds others that even when we are away from each other and from Kenyon -- because it's not our time to be there yet, or because our time has come to an abrupt end -- we are together in spirit, no matter what.

Pod v. Board of Education: Intro to Remote Learning
Sophie Krichevsky
I decided to make a podcast on my experiences regarding remote learning during COVID-19. I had made podcasts before, and I thought it would be a valuable opportunity. These are the first 3 episodes, and future ones can be found here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/pod-v-board-of-education/id1418322264

Ice Cream Truck
Rebecca Abbott
Video of first playdate since quarantine (Daisy and Lucy Abbott invited Cate and Bella Fleckenstein) with one of the first ice-cream truck visits of the season. Around 2:37, you can see the hand lettered sign that the driver flipped down from her window: "Please use social distancing" and "available upon request :) Hand sanitizer."

Fear of the "Other" Podcast
Crile Hart
This is a short podcast summary of an interview I had with my dad about the COVID-19 crisis. This was done for my Anthropology of Fear class' final project. We talked about many fears surrounding our world right now but for the post cast I focused on one fear we talked a lot about during class, fear of the 'other'.

K-SWOC Labor Day Rally
Charlie Muller
This is a video of the Labor Day Rally hosted by the Kenyon Student Worker Organizing Committee (K-SWOC) in September 2020, titled, "The Union Difference." K-SWOC is a group of Kenyon students who work campus jobs and are workers. K-SWOC is organizing for a comprehensive labor union of all student workers at Kenyon. This rally was a very important event for the kickoff of our union campaign and stands as vital Kenyon history. K-SWOC was formed in the context of the pandemic and our organizing efforts are absolutely an instrumental part of Kenyon's COVID story. The rally features speakers from around the country who are part of the wider labor movement including: Karen Rizzo (leader at UE Local 613 and speech therapist at the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children), Morgan Harper (former Congressional candidate for Ohio's 3rd district), Professor Chris Howell (Oberlin College Prof. of Politics), and Michael Goldberg (UE representative for the Campaign to Organize Graduate Students, at the University of Iowa), a written endorsement of K-SWOC from Senator Bernard Sanders (I-VT), and lastly a video endorsement from Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown urging Kenyon College to recognize K-SWOC as a union. All of these speakers spoke about the difference unions have made in their lives, urged Kenyon College to recognize the union of student of workers, and commemorated the organizing work that we have embarked upon as students. We hope that you accept the video file into the archive and thank you for your efforts in archiving Kenyon's story in the historic moments that continue to unfold; K-SWOC is proud to be apart of that history.

Pandemic Voting
Irene Lopez
We went in to do early voting for the presidential race. This is Dean of Academic Advising Tom Hawks beginning the process. We lined up, wearing masks, standing six feet apart, and produced our ID to a poll worker behind plexiglass. We then had to fill out our ballot with a pen that they provided (and which was later discarded). As you walked out of the polling center, you could grab your "I Voted Sticker" and wash your hands with hand sanitizer.

International Student Experience
Asmod Khakurel
The is a video I made to share my life experience that is messed up because of not being able to get a visa to travel to college. I have to do the whole year online from Nepal and it is not that easy as it would be if I was an American student.
