I have waited in vain, for a letter from you or some one else of the boys untill last evening when I received one from W. Gallup. When I left home, some six weeks ago, I was in hopes that we should correspond oftener than we have done. I arrived on the hill the day after leaving home having hopes of [?] and have now commensed[sic] studying in good earnest.
[Id] suppose you are now enjoying yourself to any extention[sic] seeing how the world wages, about specie/money +C.DC. the fact is I have not seen any specie at all for six weeks or [since] the post office order come on I do not believe there is a single [lip] on the hill out of the post office.
Shall “[shim] plasters” have been made out by the College & [tho] to answer the purpose of change.
