Mr. Tappan

Dear Sir

Your favor of Dec. 1869 forwarded from Lockport N.Y. is just received.

In reply permit me to say, that I was in the US Army as an enlisted man from Dec 7th 1861 to Aug 25th 1862. My Regiment 105th N.Y. State Volunteers was in no engagement previous to my discharge.

On the last of the above dates I was honorably discharged on account of physical disability.

I served at different times as 3d & 1st Sergeant.

P.S. I have no knowledge of any other graduate at Kenyon

I was married on the 13th Feb. 1833 and my wife is now sitting by my side in good health.
