of
St. James Church Cross Creek
Gentlemen;
The Bearer of this Letter is my beloved nephew Mr. James Chase Head Teacher of the Grammar School of Kenyon College.
Being on a journey for the recovery of his health, & my fellow traveller as Steubenville I have desired him to take a separate horse and go before me to give you notice that I will officiate in your Church next Sunday i.e. on the 31. day of this present month. Touching my earnest desire that this information be spread as far as possible and also for the reasons of my delay in not giving you more timely notice I refer you to Mr. Chase: and am
your Faithful Friend
& Servt.
Phir. Chase
