Dear Brother:
I bless God that I was enabled to arrive here without any serious injury from my joltings in my long journey. I found all well and doing well. A New Quarry unexpectedly discovered at the bottom of Gambier Hill gives us in abundance the finest Stone in the universe. The Chapel is going on rapidly. The stone for the Chancel 40 by 30 feet are nearly all prepared [shewn] this Part will be up & finished this summer. The Main body of the Church 100 by 66 will progress this season & be finished the next.
The College is overflowing with students.
If my wings were up they could be filled [even] [to] the contemplated no. [400] in one Summer.
Our Hotel will be finished in a few days. The Coach carrying a daily mail to Mt. Vernon runs for the first time today.
P. Chase
