My dear Wife,
When I write every day there is certainly some reason in expecting a letter from home oftener than once in ten days!!
You have adequate idea of the heart[risking] effect of “No letters” from the west which I have heard even since Minor was here. My very Spirit dies within me.
I was not so well today but still have to set off for home on Monday. Although the Physicians in Phi. all [remonstrate] against it.
How many thousand letters have I rd. this winter from the Professors & Tutors at Kenyon?
Your affectionate Husd.
P. Chase
