My Dear Wife:
I assisted the Rev. Mr [Jones] in the admin’n. of the H. Com. on Christmas day: and was most happy in giving the sacred Bread to dear Brother Dudley whom I love more than ever.
In the afternoon I saw Mr Francis Key and staid all night at the Rev Mr Hawleys.
Today it has rained all day: I have been to see Br. Dudley and Judge Ruggles. Gov. Hendricks & Genl. Noble of Indiana & Mr. Armstrong of Vir’a & Mr Cannon (I think) of Ohio.
I also went to see Judge Burnett & Mr Whittlesly and stopping in at Mr Jho Ingles’ I was persuaded to stay all night.
I bed you’ll send me Mr Bates draft as soon as may be
Your faithful P. Chase
