My dear Wife: the acct. Of Mr. J. Sherman which I herewith inclose & for the payment of which the above draft of $300. is designed was incurred in my absence from home. Ask Mr. L: to let you see that acct. in detail more satisfactory than the summary acct. which he sent me & which also I inclose: and when you are perfectly satisfied and Mr. Sherman shall have receipted the bill of particulars (not the general one) then & not till then deliver the above Draft; and put the amount to my Cr. on the little square cash book. I also send send [sic] Mr. Biddle acct. Of sales of the Bank Stock I mean the 4 ½ of 1831 - 3.526.16 neat amount which you will put to my Debit and the College Cr. on my same little square book.
