My dear Wife;
I think it proper to send you the inclosed letter of Br. Dudley. Pray read it thro’. and you’ll see that we are to have the pleasure of welcoming his wife on Gambier Hill next summer.
Tell Mr. Douglass to look [well] to it that no trees be cut on the College Hill. If any students do the like he will report them to the College authority.
I have had so many calls to make & so much to do that I can not be blamed for neglecting Mr. [Lamson’s] letters.
Your faithful Husd.
Phr. Chase
