To Elnathan Raymond 12th. Oct. 1829
Dear Sir:
Some time ago I reced. your favour of the 15. of Sepr. with a bill of hat annexed amount, $74.25. The letter stated that you had forwarded the hats and desired me to acknowledge the ret. of them.
The Hats have not yet come and to the disappointment of not receiving them to fulfill our engagement with our hands. I may add the painful apprehension that they are too long delayed on the way to leave a reasonable for their arrival before the navigation on the Canals & Lake shall have closed.
Please, Sir, look into this business and oblige
Your friend & Sert.
Phir. Chase
Mr. Raymond is requested to write the Bishop by first mail after the Rect. of this, informing him how the Boxes of Hatts were address’d, and to whom care at Sandusky City
