The Bearer, the Rev: George Montgomery West, of whose godly conversation and competent attainments in christian learning and useful eloquence I had been well assured, is admitted by the grace of God and the laying on of my hands unto the Holy Order of Priest’s in the Church of Christ.
In going on an errand of benevolence and mercy to England & the British Isles, Mr. West complies with my most earnest request: and I do most affectionately & sincerely recommend him to the kind notice & patronage of those whom for their part favours I love so dearly the Arch Bishops, Bishops and Clergy of the Church of England and to all Others who love sound faith and wholesome learning and who desire the diffusion thereof through the world.
To Mr. West.
