By the Honor of these Present be it known unto all Men, that [Me] Philander Chase by Divine Permission Bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the State of Ohio, solemnly administring Holy Orders under the protection of Almighty God beneath the spreading trees of Marriott Park in view of Kenyon College on the bank of Vernon River near Gambier Knox County State of Ohio North America, on Sunday the Tenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty even, did admit into the Holy Order of Deacons our well beloved in Christ George Montgomery West of whose virtuous and pious Life and Conversation & competent Learning and Knowledge in the Holy Scriptures we were well assured, and him, the said Philander Chase did then and there rightly and canonically ordain a Deacon: He having first in our presence made the Subscription required by the General Ecclesiastical Constitution.
In Witness whereof we hae caused our Seal to be hereunto affixed. Dated the Day and Year above written and in the ninth year of our Consecration.
