Washington Jan’y 28. 1827
Dear George
I thank you cordially for your favor of 19th and in return send you a letter I have just re’d from your Cousin Rev’d Mr Morse. It will give you great pleasure to know that the wife & child of our Dear and much lamented Philander are well & happy.
Remember me to your Dear [?] Wife. may she always be happy in the love, and honorable, hand and affectionate regards of her dear and worthy husband. I cannot add any thing more if I tried, unless it be to say, kiss & thank the little girl for her first letter to her & your
