My dear Wife
You need not feel uneasy about me. I am with good Sister Maria and withal have the smiles of our Heavenly Father to cheer me. My sore limbs are better though I can not walk about much. I am just now going to ride out to make several calls.
We are beginning to make an impression in favour of our Ohio caue. Your old acquaintance [J] [Carrow] is much my [friend] and will subscribe he says $50 if not more.
I am very sorry for you Dear Wife & dear Lucia your deficiencies in point of help excite me the most painful feelings except those which afflict me on acct. of my own unworthiness
What you have done in the business way is just right. May God bless & strengthen you Dear Wife! My eyes fill with tears to think of my long-long [separation] from you and the dear Children. Do embrace them for one who is now shedding tears for them and you, even their Father and your faithful Husband
