Transcript
Dear Sir,
The result of my conference with Dr. Smith, and a further consideration of the subject, has been a conviction that Bishop Chase’s application for aid to carry his plans into effect, merits the attention and support of all well wishers to the Episcopal Church in America, and as such I beg you will do me the favour to put my name down as a subscriber for five pounds.
A copy from memory, but believed to be literally correct, and it is believed to have been dated Manchester January 31st 1824
Note from Dr. Calvert, Warden of Manchester
Delivered by Mr. Wiggin, in whose hand it is, to Mr. Marriott.
