Dear Sir,
I have the most important reasons to entreat your attendance at Mt. Vernon, Knox County Ohio on the 8th day of June next. To spend the whole of that day in hearing my report to the trustees of the seminary and Kenyon College and in considering the best interests of that institution.
On saturday the 9th it is my most particular desire that the trustees repair with me to the and with solemnities lay the cornerstone of Kenyon college. On sunday the 10th, if the weather permits- divine service will be performed and a sermon preached (by the Rev. Mr. Morse) on the college grounds. If the weather proves unfavorable, the sermon and other sacred services will be performed on Sunday at Mt. Vernon. May God dispose all our plans to His glory.
Your Faithful Friend,
Philander Chase
