Dear Sir
I was in hopes that at your return to Town I should have had the pleasure of forwarding to you an appointment from Mr. [Wilberforer] & [Meryl]. I am sorry to say that an [excursion] to Godstone prevents his joining a day at present, you will see by the accompanying note from Mrs. Wilberforer that he is as anxious as you are for an interview, & I hope before you again leave that you will have the gratification of being personally known to each other.
My Butler has sent your appeal to Mrs. Hannah More who will I am sure be delighted to see you if the state of her health permits, when you visit Bristol. You had better, if you please, send her a note what you arrive there & request her to choose the time that best suits her.
I avail myself of your [?] permission to send a small present to your [?] library & with every good wish
I am ever
Dear Sir
Your Sincere Friend
