D’r Sir
My excellent & most esteemed Friend Lord Kenyon sent me thro’ you 100£ Sterling-- the rec’t of which I acknowledged by last mail.
Since having perused his Lordship[‘s] kind letter I find he laboured under a mistaken apprehension of the meaning of my last letter to him.
I feel myself therefore in honour bound to return the same subject to his Lordships order--of which he is already advised by me your’s[sic]
