My dearest Brother:
July letter of the 17 was handed me last night. I am glad that you are so well as to write so a good a letter. May God bless and comfort you under your [?] and especially give you the consolations of his Holy Spirit in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I have rec[eived] more recent letters from my dear wife than the one you had the goodness to inclose me. She never ceased to remember your kindness to her while on her short visit to Vermont, and to [?] her best love to you and all the dear ones in Randolph Bethel & Royalton.
As to myself God supports me with his Holy Arm and enables me to forgive mine enemies as I ought to do.
What success I shall meet with in this City I know not. Yesterday I preached twice in two of the principal Churches in Brooklyn. Next Sunday I shall D.V. preach in St. John’s in the morning in St. George’s in the afternoon and in Jersey City in the evening for D. [?]. During the intermediate days from today till Saturday night I shall not have one moment to spare except to think of you and dear Olivia and my sweet granddaughters and Brother [?] and Sisters Cott[er] and Rachael continually. [?] we myself all meet in Heaven, God grant it [through] Jesus Christ our Lord Amen!
I think of coming to you shortly after finishing my work here in New York. Till then adieu.
Ever your loving [brother] Ph Chase
