Washington March 11th 1816
My Dear George
I this day rec’d a letter from your hon’d Father announcing the surprising but very agreeable intelligence of the of the birth of another son. The joy I feel at this event is truly indiscribable [sic]. I enclosed the letter to you. Dear Aunt who will doubly participate with us all in this unexpected pleasure
I am in high spirits I will assure you and wholly unfit to write talk or think on any subject but the one which occupies my intire [sic] faculties.
May this event form a new and joyous epoch in your family history and may you my Dear George be glad—and we deserve and receive the choicest of Heaven’s blessings.
