View MoreBarker Newhall (1867-1924), Professor of Greek at Kenyon College, taught one of the first art history and archaeology classes at Kenyon in 1897. After his death, his Modern and Ancient Art History courses became the basis for the development of the Art History Department. The Barker Newhall Collection is a vast array of photographs pertaining to Greco-Roman architecture and sculpture. It was a teaching-aid to his classes along with his assemblage of lantern slides. The digitization of these works will make these historic images available to students and teachers worldwide.
