Description

A distant view of the Minar Chihil Dukhtaran or forty daughters/women. There are various urban myths regarding the name. The most probably in that a nearby building served an exclusively female population, while the “forty” is just a generic term for “many.” The Seljuk minaret consists of a square plinth, an octagonal shaft, and a tapering circular shaft with decorative patterns in brickwork including inscription bands.
