Abstract
A view of the Dome of the Rock from the Southeast. The shrine is the earliest surviving Islamic monument, dating from the late 7th century AD.
Description
A view of the stairs and arcade leading up to the platform of the Dome of the Rock. The building rests on a raised platform to which access is provided by eight sets of stairs. These stairs are topped by arcades, as seen in this image, which form a sort of ring around the building.
