Abstract

A view of the Silsila minaret, also called the Chain Gate Minaret, for it's position over the chain gate. It lies opposite the west face of Dome of the Rock within the walls of the Haram, and overlooks the Western Wall. The minaret dates from Mamluk times, but the dome and the canopy date from the 1920s.
