Description
Cityscape of an Italian town. A modest, respectable home with laundry drying on a line strung out of the top window lies in the center of the etching. Townspeople meander through the scene with a tall equestrian monument to the right of the composition. Cypress trees stand tall in the distance.
This etching is one of 36 created for Vedute Altre prese da i Luoghi Altre ideate (Views, Some Taken from Places, Others Invented) depicting Venice, Canaletto's home and constant source of artistic inspiration.
