Condition
As of 9/27/2024: The obverse of this coin is heavily oxidized, particularly on the upper half and right side. The letter inscription above the imperial portrait is somewhat legible, as are the details of the imperial costume in the bottom half. However, the face and upper body of the emperor are very difficult to discern.
The reverse, while also heavily oxidized, retains all inscriptions as very easy to discern. The bottom left corner of the reverse is a bit more worn but does not make a significant impact on the inscription.

Description
The obverse of this half-follis depicts a full-length figure of the emperor Justinian I (r. 527-565) enthroned. He is wearing a diadem (imperial crown) decorated with a trefoil ornament. In his right hand, the emperor holds a long scepter. In his left hand, the emperor holds a globus cruciger.
The reverse of this half-follis is struck with the denomination mark with a cross to the left. Within the quadrants of the cross is a Greek inscription.
