Description

The steatite icon displays the bust of a very traditional Christ Pantokrator with decorated nimbus, holding an open book in his left hand. The disc was once broken in half and then repaired, and its thin raised rim has suffered considerable chipping. The surface of the piece is now brownish gray, but where there has been chipping, the underlying greenish grey color of the stone is visible.
