Founded by poet John Crowe Ransom and Roberta Teale Swartz Chalmers, the Kenyon Review literary journal saw its first publication in 1939. Even through a 10 year hiatus from 1969-1979, the Review has maintained a prominent place in the literary zeitgeist.
