Description

This document was scripted in English by Monica Dematte on December 22nd, 1993 in Guangzhou, China. It discussed the third art event, which happened on November 24th, 1993, by the “Big Tail Elephant” group. The activity consisted of “Five Hours” by Chen Shaoxiong, “Allegory of Love” by Xu Tan, and “100 pieces and 1000 pieces” by Lin Yilin. Dematte talked about the meaning, the artistic significance, the response of the public, and the correlations among these three works in the essay. She concluded by pointing out that the “Big Tail Elephant” group’s goal of art-making was to create an imperfect, yet forceful artwork. (Yifan Shang ‘25)
