Installation (fluorescent light, watt-hour meter, raincoat, wood, chalk, and others) and Action Art.
Description
In this installation, fluorescent lamps are arranged in several human-figured posts; corporeality of the posts can be inferred from the anatomy of a head (a light bulb), torso (composed by lamps), the arms (by lamp as well), and one or two legs (lamp). Surrounding the illuminated posts are tangled cords which connect the lamps to the electricity source and electricity meters. The meters serve to record the energy consumption of the installations in the course of 72.5 hours (Sanderson, "Chen ShaoXiong", Art Review, 2016, Available on https://artreview.com/ara-autumn-2016-chen-shaoxiong/). (Jerry Wu'23).
