Description
This work is a recreation of a portion of the wing of the classical sculpture “Nike of Samothrace '', which is a Greek sculpture from the Hellenistic era, dating from the beginning of the 2nd century BC. Made in rice-paper-casting, this work is placed at the center of a plexiglas board. The cast shows the outline and the vivid shape of Nike feathers on rice paper. The artist tries to deliver a message of “the original classical meaning of one masterpiece still exists after the replacement of its visual cognition”, according to the caption by the artist.
